3 Ways to Build the Inner Peace and Resilience you need in the increasing uncertainties of the world

Peace comes from within

Are you finding yourself feeling more anxious and stressed these days? You’re not alone. With all the uncertainties in the world, it’s normal to feel like things are out of your control. But, what if I tell you there are ways you can do to build inner peace and resilience and still maintain a clear mind and an open heart? When it comes to building inner peace and resilience, we often look to experts and outside sources for guidance. Yet, the most powerful tool for creating calmness and strength already lies within us and it is simply a matter of remembering how to tap into it.

Join me on a journey inward as we explore how to build inner peace and resilience in uncertain times together.

1. Daily practise of recharge for our mind, heart and soul:

We are often caught up in activities, news, conversations that take up energy from our mind, heart and soul. Developing a daily practice of meditation or breathing exercises every day can help to nourish and recharge our mind, heart and soul. We can then learn to be present at the moment and not get caught up in our thoughts and worries about the future. Importantly, it helps us to connect with our inner wisdom and intuition, and guides us in important creativity and decision making situations.

Elynn’s daily tip: 5-10mins of heart lock in technique each morning before I start my day.

If you like to try the Heart Lock-In® Technique from HeartMath Institute , below are the steps:

Step 1:

Focus your attention in the area of the heart. Imagine your breath is flowing in and out of your heart or chest area, breathing a little slower and deeper than usual.

Step 2:

Activate and sustain a regenerative feeling such as appreciation, care or compassion.

Step 3:

Radiate that renewing feeling to yourself and others.

2. Intentionally grow your support network of family and friends

As social beings, we all need a strong support system and hold meaningful interactions with others. In fact, a strong support system can help alleviate significant stress from our day to day challenges, such as a listening ear, asking for advice or help. But, how often do we intentionally create time to connect with our family and friends?

Make it a point to carve out time and grow your network!

Elynn’s tip: Identify people you wish to connect with each week or month and arrange an appointment so you lock it in your calendar!

3. Cultivate a positive outlook on life

Cultivating a positive outlook on life doesn’t mean that we only pursue positive experiences. In fact, we all know life is full of ups and downs. We can learn to accept this and see that silver lining in every cloud.

When we have a positive outlook, we are more likely to see the best in people and in situations. We’re also more likely to be grateful for what we have, even when it’s not much.

Elynn’s tip: Each time you encounter a difficult situation, do a 1 minute heart focused breathing. Then, ask yourself “What is this situation trying to teach me?”

These are just a few tips to help you build inner peace and resilience.

Remember, it’s important to find what works for you and to be patient with yourself. It takes time to develop these new habits and skills, but it’s worth it. When we have inner peace and resilience, we can approach the world with confidence and courage, knowing that we can handle whatever comes our way.

I hope this article was helpful in sparking some ideas of how you can begin to build inner peace and resilience within yourself. Do you have any other tips or techniques that have worked for you? Please share in the comments below!
